This album represents the dark thoughts that live inside our heads. Many of these songs were written during the 2020 pandemic. Many of them had only been performed once or twice for a live and audience, and a couple had not been performed at all. This batch of songs are honest, and straight from the source. No veil has been placed over them in the writing process because an audience didn't like something. They are fresh from the page, and while some of them were written previous to the world shitting down they all share a similar theme. Maybe you feel stuck. Maybe you feel lonely. Maybe you feel depressed. Maybe you're in a relationship with someone who makes you feel stuck, depressed, and lonely. Maybe you feel none of those things. But sometimes when someone asks how we are doing, the only thing we can utter is "I'm Fine..." This album is for them.

Columbia Jones and the Harpoons

Blues/Roots Rock

As a Jack-of-all-trades, Columbia has done it all. He was a finalist in the 2023 Telluride Solo blues challenge, a nationally touring Folk artist, and the drummer for an Americana band. But Columbia's voice as an artist is what sets him apart.

Columbia Jones' music is deeply informed by his love of blues and country where he combines the emotion of the blues with the storytelling of country. Sort of a Chris Stapelton meets The Black Keys. All with authentic and vulnerable lyrics. All belted out with a voice that always turns heads at sound check.

After over 10 years of performing as a musician, Columbia has built an impressive resume. Multiple national tours booked by himself, competitions, 50-100 shows a year, 3 albums, and a handful of EPs. While many musicians come and go, Columbia has remained a staple of the Salt Lake City Blues and Folk scene. His combination of hard work and talent has also garnered him respect from venues all over the intermountain west. A relationship he continues to nurture by going on tour twice a year.

These days he fronts Columbia Jones and the Harpoons: A powerful mix of Blues and Southern rock with a horn section. The songs go from groovy to powerful eliciting all the emotions that Columbia wants his audience to feel.

Columbia Jones One Man Band

Folk/Americana

Columbia Jones is a nationally-touring singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and baseball card enthusiast. What began as his blues-fueled busking experiment on the street corners of Salt Lake City, quickly evolved into a nationally-touring act with a handful of well-received singles and one full-length album, “I'm a Terrible Human Being,” under his belt.

Jones’ songs are earnest reflections of the everyday American experience paired with a sound that blends the best elements of Americana, Folk, Country, and Rock. His versatility as a musician is evident in the wide range of instruments and musical styles covered in his studio recordings, as well as onstage his on-stage performance, where gentle acoustic ballads can easily shift to a lively on-stage folk frenzy. Spectators of the this One Man Band can expect to see him perform on guitar while kicking a bass drum, foot tambourine, and some live looping.

Columbia Jones had shared the stage with regional, national, and international artists. Here are few of them:

Mason Jennings

Goodnight, Texas

The Talbot Brothers

Shane Hall
